CANNABIS POLICY SIMULATION LAB
Facilitating Prediction and Control of Cannabis-related Policy Outcomes
To better understand how cannabis policies may impact a state’s market, public health, and societal outcomes, you must turn to data science. As the only predictive tool that lets you test policy changes in each state’s unique regulatory environment, the Cannabis Policy Simulation Lab is your solution for determining cannabis market and health outcomes, contingencies, and dependencies.

DATA COLLECTION AND DEVELOPMENT
Our unparalleled team of research and policy experts leverage robust survey methodology, data collection on cannabis policies, analytics, and cannabis regulation consulting experience to predict outcomes in each state’s unique regulatory environment. Specifically, our
Regulatory Determinants of Cannabis Outcomes Survey output works together with information on state cannabis policies and policy-adjacent factors to form the Cannabis Policy Simulation Lab.

THE SIMULATIONS
We answer policymaker, public health agency, and medical practitioner questions with accuracy using novel and complex data science. Scenarios simulated in the Lab include overall legalization (illegal, medical only, or medical and adult use), cannabis dispensaries per capita and per geographic area, the presence of legal medical and adult-use delivery services, and so many more. These simulations help identify outcome drivers, and to what extent each individual driver is predictive of outcomes.

THE OUTPUT
Policymakers seek to understand the impact of potential policy changes, and public health agencies need to prepare for the potential health outcomes of these changes in cannabis policy. That’s why we hear questions like “What will happen to the regulated and illicit market if we change the excise tax rate?” and “How should we measure social equity impact?” The Cannabis Policy Simulation Lab describes and predicts cannabis market and health-related outcomes to create safe, equitable, and efficient markets.
